Putting the flat track in Bullies
Posted on: 4 June
The Bullies – some may say they’re from the Back Paddock.
Some are now suggesting, though, that they might come from some other strange place called “Flat Track”.
Yep, the champs were toppled at the weekend for the first time in this Neville Richards Premier League season.
But serious form analysts had seen this coming.
They have had a soft draw and very much fell over the line against the hapless Goblins.
Worse, though, is that they’ve scored less each week than the last throughout the early rounds of season 2024.
And the trend stuck on Saturday when, under the gun from the surprise packet Peakers, the Bullies caved again.
As Big Foot points out in this week’s video, the Peakers actually have the Bullies pegged as their own little rag dolls, tossing them around just as they did when last they met in the 2023 campaign – now extending that streak to a whopping two in a row J.
And how about those Pirates?!?
Led by white Sue Gregory’s 37 points, the once glamour team has suddenly become blue collar and consistent with 34 points needed to even have a counting score!
The Pirates recorded 211 points to win this week’s Callaway prize of a twin-pack of balls for every team member, even though John Powe should consider giving at least one back into the team’s end-of-season trip fund! J
Milney and Hayesy have gone to a thesaurus to try to find out what’s evergreener than evergreen, but for now we all just take out hats off to Pete DeFazio who won a countback to be the Travis Mathew prizewinner this week, edging out Warriors teammate “Pants” Peacock in the process.
Check out all the stats – and mostly opinions – in this week’s video, featuring the advent of a new “trophy” to be given out weekly.
